All residents of Seyðisfjörður have accommodation over Christmas.

23.12.2020 Fréttir Aurskriður á Seyðisfirði

All those from Seyðfjörður who were not allowed to return to their home for Christmas, have accommodation over the holidays. Many had already settled with relatives and friends elsewhere, but the staff of Múlaþing assisted residents to suitable housing.

The staff of Múlaþing would like to express special thanks to all those who offered help during these demanding times. Individuals and companies have responded quickly and well by offering housing, cars, food, clothing, money and so on. We would like to thank them for their response.

The evacuation of the red colored area is in effect until December 27th. Information is e.g. published on www.logreglan.is and www.mulathing.is.

Residents who live below Múlavegur (yellow on the map below) are permitted to return to their home.
